Haven't used any lures for a few years now, because never really had any success. when I was using it I used Tinks 69 in an area where their were some good bucks, but no luck. Only a few small bucks seem to be a little interested. Do think the wise big boys know the difference? I felt the big boys only traveled at night or they were wise to the smell. Tinks 69 has been around a long time, so I wander how real it really is. Last Saturday I was scouting and saw to really nice bucks fighting over a doe that was bedded near by. If I thought, buck lure really worked I would buy some for opening day. But the last thing I want to do is spook a nice buck because I was using what 20 other hunters were all using the same day.

In september (urban) and October (early archery) I use Deer Sense. Its the incense sticks you light and cover with a bucket that has holes drilled out. The past few years it has actually worked well for me, always BEFORE the rut. I've killed several does and small to medium sized bucks over it. For some reason though, they don't work during the rut for me. During the rut I always use a spray on type cover scent, and then maybe put out a couple scent wicks with Code Blue doe estrus on them. I kill deer that way, but I've never been 100% sure it was because he was coming in to the scent. Usually I think the deer I kill during the rut are just out cruising for does, and I happen to be in the right spot at the right time.

I've had scents work great,,,and sometime not at all. If I could ever figure it out,,,I'd have more on the wall.
Gee,,,that was poetic ;D
